G’day Mike,
Myself and my two sons, as well as one of my
sons friends attended a shoot on the 1st of September.
We found the friendship and guidance brilliant
under the hand of Brett and the friendship of all of the members very
welcoming.
This is a new sport for us and we will have no
hesitation in joining you all again for a great challenge.
Thank you.
Mick.Tom.Nick Burke.
Well that about says it all doesn't it. It confirms what I have been saying about this club for a long time now. Well done Brett and all the members who made this family feel welcome.
We also had a lovely polite young lady get her Dad to bring her out to the club as she wanted to try archery after trying it at camp. I hope she takes the sport up as we need more ladies and this girl looks like she will make a very good archer. With the exception of Granddad most scores were a little of the boil this week, may have been the wind or it could have been general disappointment that Teabag had a painful day.
Scores:- Granddad Cec 384, Don't tie with me Brett 374, Rabbits Nic & Coins Alastair 372, Cola Karen 358, Cup Cake Gloria 342, Chris 328, Sam 326, Jake 280, SWR Brad 274, Leach Bait Bruce 252, BP Glenn 248, Finger Ray 246, Long bow Baily 230, Yellow Peg Stewart 206, Young Nic 140, Teabag 16. Any body have a fix for really sore shoulders?
For those that didn't know, Bruce is a trained ship-rite I think that's the right word. He did an apprenticeship in timber boat building. Well after seeing a few long bows he has started making one for himself and he showed us at the club at the weekend. I'm in love, the workmanship was simply stunning. I believe an oldish club member has already ordered one for him or her self. I am being vague here to protect Cec's identity. If any of you have a slight interest in trying the mystical art of Longbow shooting Bruce's bows would be a good place to start.
To all the Dad's Have a happy Fathers Day.
See you all soon.
Cheers Teabag
