19 archers ventured out to Collombatti this weekend to give the testing Goanna Range a go. The 3 arrow round was full of tricky and sneaky stances with the cardboard critters hiding behind trees and grasses. But that was not enough to hold back father and son, Shane and Jacob Fuit, who both scored 390 out of the 400 points available. Other notable scores were Alastair Smedley, another 390 pts and Dion Ussher with 388 pts.
The scores were;
Men – Shane Fuit 390, Alastair Smedley 390, Glenn Freeman 376,Darrin Simonds 370, Cec Apps 362, Gary Kitchin 350, Mike Porter 348, Dave McManus 346, Robert Fortdyle 342, Aaron Partridge 332, Neil Ussher 320.
Ladies – Gloria Porter 356 PB.
Juniors Boys – Jacob Fuit 390, Dion Ussher 388, Martin Tim Hodgeman 360, Sam Harwood 354, Gene Shea 352, Zac Kitchin 340, Kale Ross 306
To our only lady archer, a great big congratulation from all of us for scoring a new Personal Best score of 356 points this week. We would like to see more ladies out to join Gloria, Karen and Casey in this great sport.
If you looking for something different to do on a Saturday afternoon, why not give archery a go. Its something the whole family can do too. Not only is the company good, we have our resident Iron chef, Darrin, whipping up gourmet BBQ lunch’s, roasted potatoes and other goodies to eat. Starting time for the first arrow is 2pm, with the teams being made prior with the days nominations. Training is provided at the practice butts before heading out on the range. Give it a go; you’ll be hooked on this challenging and satisfying sport.
