I am very pleased to announce that as of 28/11/10 Macleay Valley Archers now have an official Game Measurer - Bruce Crumpton, and a Bowhunter Education Officer - Myself (Steve Harris), as a result of the accreditation weekend at Moonterra Archers. Many thanks to Lindsay and Ralph for a very enjoyable and educational weekend and also to the Moonterra Archers for their excellent hospitality. As Bowhunter Education Officer I am now able to run the B.P.C. (Bowhunter Proficiency Certificate) courses for our club and strongly recommend that all of our members make the effort to sit this course. Our Bowhunters need a B.P.C. to claim game and obtain an "R" Licence to hunt Deer and declared State forests. It is also important that our target only archers attain a B.P.C. to help the A.B.A. show the people who make no distinction between Hunter or Target Archer, that a responsible level of bow use is taking place in our clubs.Even if you do not hunt and only wish to take part in Archery, purely as a target sport, to obtain a B.P.C. is a demonstration that you are a responsible bow user and supporter of the A.B.A. This means that the A.B.A. has a stronger arguement to help keep our sport alive when they can present a strong number of accredited, proficient bow users to the authorities and bodies that would otherwise see our sport outlawed and banned based on the actions of the very few that do the wrong thing and bring our sport into disrepute. The B.P.C. is a free service provided to A.B.A.. members which can usually be held over only one day so the time and monetary costs are extremely minimal. Please show your support to the A.B.A. and help to keep our sport alive.Anyone wishing to sit the B.P.C. course can contact me either at the club or by email : airpig75@y7mail.com to arrange a day that suits all parties. If you have been a member of A.B.A. for 3 months you can obtain a B.P.C.Again, a big thank you to all at Moonterra.Steve
We will be holding a BPC course on Saturday, 6th of March at 9am. This course takes all day people so bring your lunch .... (or we will have to get Chef to cook again!!). There is no cost for the day (unless Chef cooks!!!) so there is no excuse not to turn up. Bring your gear with you as there is a practical part of the exam as well. We WILL have manuals by then. If you are happy to supply your own manual from the ABA shop online, by all means knock yourself out. Otherwise they will be supplied!!
ReplyDeleteFor those that passed their BPC course your cards & I think your certificates have arrived. Well done
ReplyDeleteFor anyone wishing to get a B.P.C. all you need to do is let me know either at the club or email me at airpig75@y7mail.com and we will make a time that suits all concerned, its that easy!
ReplyDeleteAlso the cards and certificates from the previous course that was run have arrived and been given out, well done to all concerned.
Cheers, Steve Harris-Bowhunting Instructor
Hello Mike,
ReplyDeleteThis is a just a courtesy email to let you know about 'Nariel Station' and ask a small favour. My husband and I opened our property up to bowhunters (exclusively) in February of this year. We're located about 5 hours west of Brisbane near the NSW/Qld border and have feral goats, pigs, foxes, rabbits, and occasionally cats and dingoes to offer. There's good, basic accommodation available in shearer's quarters, or the option to camp out if preferred.
We'd like to let as many bowhunters as possible know about this, so we've had a stack of business cards made up and now just need to find lots of good places to put them! If you think your club or business could benefit from this opportunity, please let us know your postal address and we'll send as many cards as you would like. If you'd like to have a chat, just say so and we'll give you a call. Alternately, you're welcome to call us anytime on 07 4677 1142.
If you'd like to check it out, all the gory details can be found on www.narielstation.jimdo.com. Feel free to pass this information on to anyone you know that might be interested. If this email is of no interest or benefit to you, or anyone you know, please disregard it completely and thank you for reading it through.
Thanks very much for your time and we hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
Bruce and Kelli Morse
