Hi All this was written by Sean ( Told you I was bigger than him) I'm not sure how old Sean is, I'm guessing about 12. It is really nice to see the club through such young eyes. Thanks Sean

Hi Mike,
Here is my blog.
The club has been very nice to us
helping us picking out our bows and giving
us tips on how to shoot
well.
It's really fun to walk around the bush and talk and shoot and its
really
addictive.
The practice targets are fun because you can tell how
far you can shoot.
The club is very friendly and the axe and knife is fun to
watch and the
leaches don't hesitate to say hello.
Thanks to Brett for
helping us when we first came, and thanks to Karen and
Alastair for giving
us good tips and for taking us around on Satuarday.
Look forward to getting
to know everyone better.

ABA 3 Arrow 28th April
Well another week has passed & I find myself sitting here wondering what to write. The weather was less than perfect and kept several of the regulars away. It was lovely to see 2 beginner families turn up, love that sort of enthusiasm. Bruce & his son Liam Followed by Dean and his son Sean arrived. I love seeing families bond together like this. I find it really nice when I hear sons or daughters asking Dad or Mum how to do something. Sean, Dean & Bruce all had personal best scores. Only a few points separate all family members. This week really proved we are a proud family oriented club. How's this for family involvement, Ray and Son Dave, Cupcake & Teabag, Alastair & Karen, Bruce & Liam, Dean & Sean. Sean shot very well and smashed the 300 point barrier, well done mate. Sean has promised to write an article for the blog on how he sees the club and archery in general. I have been writing this for nearly 2 years now and thought you might be getting a bit fed up with my peculiar slant on things. As a result I am going to ask members, from time to time, to contribute to the blog with a guest article. Since Sean is much smaller than me I picked him as my first victim. When your asked please don't say no, as you can see by what I write skill doesn't come into it. Grandad came to the club but was so sick he didn't even bring his bow. He only came because I had asked him how he uses his release and could he show me. When I asked he wasn't to sick but got worse as time wore on. Now think about the commitment and sportsmanship Cec displayed. Cec came because he is the club coach and a member asked for help. The fact that he was sick and the asking member is his arch enemy didn't matter. Thanks Cec.

IFAA shoot 21st April
Hi all As you know we had a working bee Sat morning and I think this probably kept a few away. Cupcake & I joined the club 20 months ago our sole pupose was to try & help me with my health. We explained our needs to the club & they were very supportive and welcomed us with open arms. Branch E followed by National did the same. So it was that cupcake & I started with no ambitions and very few expectations, now here we are 20 months down the track. We have made friends in South Australia, Victoria, Southern NSW, Northern NSW Queensland and most importantly here at MVA Inc. Cupcake clinks around the house with her gold medals. Not many sports allow you to shoot at competative events from the age of 8 right through to mid eighties. The MVA Inc members were as happy for cupcake as I was. Karen had a beautiful gift for each of us and Cec shot a score that should have allowed me to win. To be honest it was like returning home to a loving family. Thanks everbody you are a very special bunch of people.
Scores for the day 10 IFAA targets 3 arrows per target, no walk ups.

Gloria Victorious & Mike Gracious.....
Congratulations Gloria on her triumphant return from the 2012 ABA & 3D National Championships with a 1st place in both ABA & 3D Ladies Veterans Sighted Division. Commiserations Mike on finishing 6th in both ABA & 3D in Mens Veterans Sighted Division. This is a great effort and reward from a couple who put a lot into their archery. I'm pretty sure Gloria is our first National champion since Alex Crumpton???

ABA Easter Round.
Easter Saturday was fine and sunny and saw 11 shooters turn up which is quite a few for a holiday weekend. Mike & Gloria have travelled down to Mildura for the National ABA & 3d Titles and I'm sure they have had a great time in their new van. Mike should go well now that he can actually see the targets. (Had a look through his new clarifier the other day..very good.) and Gloria seems very happy with the new bow.(Just remember.. Arrow in first.)
Feathers shot well again this week with a new sight and wiped the floor with us all with his clever blend of old school arrows and very new school bow. Stewart, Gary and Liam all showed improvement and have been getting some useful tips along the way.
Scores for the day.
Dave 388, Steve 384, Brett 384, Alastair 384, Cec 382, Garry 366, Karen 350, Ray 332, Stewart 308, Garry 266, Liam 246

IFAA round 31/3/12
Hi all this will be my last post for a few weeks & I must start on a very serious note. It appears that Mr Cecil Apps our vertically challenged club President has lodged an official complaint. It seems that He feels I haven't given him the encouragement he feels he deserves. I would like to go on record as saying Grandad is one of the most outstanding archers I have ever met. In 50 years of playing archery I have competed against State, National & world record holders. Non of them shoot as well as Grandad, each shot is a joy to watch, his approach is impeccable he has a monotone method of shooting each action is a mirror image of the preceding shot. In fact it's like ground hog day.
In simple terms he is brilliant, outstanding, good and excels at all forms of archery. He is one outstanding Toxophilite. I can't explain how Cola Karen managed to beat him.
The club was saved embarrassment when Peter in a brilliant move scored with his last arrow. No Nudie run required. I can't mention names but one of our Cubs scored 107 whilst his dad scored 72 no names but Dad drives a red V8 landrover which is strange because so does Mat.
Cola Karen has just returned from the UK where she studdied Margaret Thatcher. Hence her new iron fist approach to the club. Be warned you are no longer allowed to create a tea tree effect. You are to put the tea bags in a dish......no not me the real tea bags.
Sorry about the spelling mistakes. Some are because I simply don't know how to spell the word and some are because I'm a little dim witted and don't notice for several days.
This week we shot a strange IFAA round 10 targets 3 arrows at each target, we had a lovely little group. We did however loose Grandad on a couple of targets as he wondered of into the long grass, we then held a meeting to decide if we should just leave him or try to find him. It was a close vote, but we ignored the result and went to find him.
We had a huge turn out this week with about 24 people at the club, results are:-
Coins Alastair 133, Feathers Dave & don't tie with me Brett 130, Don't mention me Steve 129, Martin McFly127, Cola Karen 126, Home Brew Garry 122, Grandad Cec 118, Young Ben 114, Scribe Neil 111, Pig Hunter Coop 107, Tea Bag 97, Cup Cake 94, Brad 92, Yellow Peg Stuart 86, South Side Gary 84, Fingers Ray & Karate Mat 72, Sam 47,
I would also like to Thank the 2 juniors Sam & Liam who brought in the targets. We really appreciate it.
Till next time
Cheers Tea Bag
