At the club meeting a several points were discussed, for those that are interested full minutes will be available at the club relatively soon. A notice of motion was tabled re the constitution. All it means is that the constitution has to have minor changes made to comply fully with the latest government regulations for incorporated clubs. The changes can be debated at the next meeting, but we don't really have any choice. Incorporation is designed to protect honest committee members from legal challenges, it also protects club members. For example without incorporation clubs could be sued with each committee member being a co-defendant and if needed then rank & file members could be added. If the case was lost the clubs assets would be sold, then the assets of the next most financial committee member and so on. they would then move onto the membership. These assets were the family home, money & anything else of value. Governments in about 1979 realised that this was not good for clubs or any voluntary organisations and so they brought in the concept of incorporation. Along with this protection came a raft of rules that had to be followed, such as including the word Inc. after the clubs name, Karen has just been checking the latest rules hence the minor changes. Thanks Karen, I usually fall asleep after page 1.
It's amazing no matter how old you get you still learn every day, take this for example. As you know Alaistair is the mens' club champion, Now Feathers has been giving him a hard time score wise. In an absolutely brilliant move Coins pointed out to Feathers that his little girl was getting cold and it may not be good for her to be outside in this wind. Feathers agreed and immediately packed up and went home to the fire. Very clever competition gone and a feel good moment all at once. Know if I can just find a way to send Alaistair, Karen, Grandad, Cupcake & 25 others home. Cupcake had a shocker we worked out that with her head swelling somewhat after seeing the paper her anchor moved upsetting her site marks. Hopefully she wont see this.
Gary & Zac arrived from Nambucca but no Mum. Next time Janelle you either come or I want a written note of explanation.
Southside Gary has moved into the honory position of Sir Dryfire, capably guided by the club coach he managed to launch a pillar of fresh air and derailed his bow. well done you two for most of us it only takes one person.
Scores for the weekend were generally very good:-Coins Alastair 382, Cola Karen & Sixpenny Zac 376, Grandad Cec 372, Fingers Ray 306, Nambucca Gary 304, Yellow Peg Stewart 300, Sam 290, Brad 238,
