May 26th ABA 3A & Int IFAA

Hi all, First things first next week is a 1 arrow ABA followed by the club AGM. If you want a say in the clubs direction this is a good meeting to attend, nominations have been received for all positions, so you won't get dobbed in for anything.
With regard to the weather this week, see last week and double it.As you know the club decided to run an international IFAA in the morning. 7 off us took part Garry Ward only had time to shoot in the morning so that allowed him to shoot where normally he would have missed out good move from my point of view. Scores were pretty good Particularly Alastairs.Maximum score 150, results were Alastair 136, Brett 128, Karen 127, Gary 126, Mike 110, Gloria 108, Ray 82.

After all the coming & going settled down we had 13 Archers attack the ABA round. 6 Archers shot their best score for the year, due to the fact that my eye sight isn't the best & I was on cloud nine which is a long way from anywhere, I didn't see who they were. Liam shot another PB as did Teabag.

Brett scored a massive 390, top shooting Brett. Alastair shot his usual very solid 386, boy is he consistent. Karen & Cec both shot magnificently, they showed outstanding style, grace & endurance. Arrow after arrow crashed into the A zone. Their form was so good they wouldn't be out of place at any shoot in Australia, all in all a super display of archery......oh! nearly forgot I beat them both. I had so many cups of tea coming I could have had a bath in the stuff. To say I was thrilled is an understatement.

The Kempsey old age retirement village had entered a team comprising of Ray, Cec, Gloria & I, loosely called the pensioners club. In an act of complete confusion Glenn arrived late and joined our group. With prostrates being what they are in old fellas, members of our group kept disappearing followed by the sound of gently running water, only to have them reappear with a happy smile. What a happy little bunch of vegemites we were.
Scores for the day :- Don't tie with me Brett 390, Coins Alastair 386, Teabag 384 PB, BP Glenn 380, Cola Karen, Martin McFly & Grandad Cec 378,  Hitchhiker Dion 376, Scribe Neil 372, BC Liam 284 PB,  CupCake Gloria 338, Fingers Ray 318, Leach Bait Bruce154.

Macleay Valley Archers Inc Club member of the week, "Cola Karen Smedley"

Till next time Cheers Teabag

  1. Great to see Teabag back on form. With plenty of weeks left in the year for qualifying, we'll all have to watch out! Better get some practice in before Sale......
